Common questions

Who can request certificates online?

Any resident of Barangay Can-untog. Certificates of residency require at least six months of actual residence in the barangay. If you recently moved in, visit the hall first so the secretary can add you to the resident registry.

Can someone claim my certificate for me?

Yes. Your representative should bring a signed authorization letter, a photocopy of your valid ID, and their own valid ID, together with your reference number.

Is the emailed copy an official document?

The emailed copy is a scan of the signed certificate and works for reference and pre-screening. Many agencies still require the original with the dry seal — claim it at the hall any time within office hours.

Do I need a cedula before getting a barangay clearance?

Yes, a Community Tax Certificate for the current year is required. If you don't have one yet, you can get it at the treasurer's desk on the same visit — bring a valid ID.

Where do the fees go?

Fees follow the barangay revenue ordinance and go to the barangay general fund, which finances services like the health station, tanod operations, and purok projects. The treasurer issues an official receipt for every payment.
